Oops! I rode my bike over a red 'L' ... 🙃

 When I lived in England, my bicycle was my favourite means of transport! 

Actually, it wasn´t mine; it belonged to the family I worked for. But,  anyway, I used to ride it and enjoyed it a lot! 😎 

Once, as I was coming back home from Uxbridge, I ran over the letter L !

I picked it up and took it home with me. It had some magnets on the back:


But I had no clue about its meaning or what it was used for...

Do you have any idea about what this 'L' stands for?

Lollipop who?!?

When I lived in England, after graduating, I discovered a new very British job: the lollipop lady . I had never seen one before... and I had no idea this profession even existed! The Lollipoplady

Finally! 😉 Here's the answer:   A lollipoplady is a woman who helps children to cross the road near a school.  She stands in the middle of the road and holds up a stick with a round sign on it that means the traffic must stop. This sign resembles a lollipop!  So that's where the name comes from!               And at the end of every school term, the Lollipoplady gives real lollipops to all the children!                                                 The first woman doing this job was Mary Hunt, in 1937. She lived in Bath, England. Nowadays we can find lollipopladies in The United Kingdom, Ireland and Australia.
