👀 A glimpse of London 🌞

Hi! 😊 How are you? I hope you are doing well!

One of my cousins has been living in London for 2 years. He applied for a job there and he got it. Amazingly enough, the company he works for is Portuguese!                                                                                                     Anyway, Tomás knows I love the United Kingdom and that I have a special affection for its capital, London. So, he often sends me videos or photos, moments of his daily life in that amazing city!

After watching this short video, can you answer these questions and share them with me? I'd like that a lot!

🍭 What's the name of the river you see on the video? (the river that                   bathes London)                                                                                              

 🍭 Do British people drive on the left or on the right side of the road?   

 🍭 My cousin is travelling by bus. But, just like the one you can see,                      what's the name of this two- level bus?

Lollipop who?!?

When I lived in England, after graduating, I discovered a new very British job: the lollipop lady . I had never seen one before... and I had no idea this profession even existed! The Lollipoplady

Finally! 😉 Here's the answer:   A lollipoplady is a woman who helps children to cross the road near a school.  She stands in the middle of the road and holds up a stick with a round sign on it that means the traffic must stop. This sign resembles a lollipop!  So that's where the name comes from!               And at the end of every school term, the Lollipoplady gives real lollipops to all the children!                                                 The first woman doing this job was Mary Hunt, in 1937. She lived in Bath, England. Nowadays we can find lollipopladies in The United Kingdom, Ireland and Australia.
